Jaw Tension Treatment

A safe, prescriber-led treatment to soften jaw tension, reduce clenching, and create a slimmer facial appearance.

Jaw tension treatment uses prescription-only Botulinum Toxin Type A to relax the masseter muscles at the angle of the jaw. This treatment is ideal for clients experiencing jaw tension, teeth grinding, or a wider lower-face appearance caused by overactive jaw muscles.

At AJ Aesthetics, all treatments are carried out by a qualified nurse prescriber, ensuring your care is safe, compliant, and tailored to your individual anatomy. A face to face consultation is needed. Click here to book yours.

What is jaw tension treatment?

Jaw tension treatment is a targeted anti-wrinkle treatment designed to relax the masseter muscles, which sit at the angle of the jaw and are responsible for chewing and clenching.

When these muscles become enlarged or overactive, they can contribute to jaw tension, teeth grinding, headaches, facial tightness, and a wider or more square lower-face shape.

By reducing excessive muscle activity, this treatment can help improve comfort while also creating a softer, more tapered jawline. It does not change your bone structure — it simply relaxes the muscle responsible for the tension.

How does jaw tension treatment work?

Jaw tension treatment temporarily blocks the release of acetylcholine, the chemical that tells muscles to contract. By relaxing the masseter muscles, the treatment can:

• Reduce jaw clenching and tension

• Help with teeth grinding (bruxism)

• Ease facial tightness or discomfort

• Soften a strong or square jawline

• Create a slimmer lower-face appearance over time

• Reduce headaches linked to jaw tension in some clients

As with all aesthetic treatments, results vary depending on your anatomy, muscle strength, and how active the area is. Clients with stronger masseter muscles may require a higher dose or more than one treatment cycle to achieve their desired result.
