What are fat dissolving injections?
Fat dissolving injections is a non surgical procedure carried out by injecting product just under the skin surface in the targeted area. They can be administered into the chin, abdomen, thighs, arms, love handles and bra bulge.
How they work?
The product is a high concentration of Riboflavin (Vitamin B2), Bromelain Ananas Sativus (Pineapple), and Lecithin, which together dissolve and decompose fat safely through the body’s lymphatic system, they also accelerate fat cell metabolism, and can reduce inflammation within the body.
How much is needed?
Everyone is different with regard to size and fat volume, and there is no one size fits all. Generally it is recommended for a bolus of product injected every 1-2cm square. It is generally a comfortable procedure and is minimally invasive. Each area is split into sections: upper abdomen, lower abdomen, inner thighs, outer things, love handles, bra bulge and chin, and with exception of the chin one vial will be spread throughout that area. It generally takes 2-4 sessions to start seeing the results, 4-6 sometimes on larger areas, but it does start working immediately after having the procure.
What to expect after treatment?
- Full results can be seen at 3-4 weeks, and further sessions is likely needed.
- The production of new fat and weight gain is possible, therefore it is important to maintain a a good diet and exercise regime, to prevent this from happening.
- It Is crucial to drink at least 2L of water for the first 48-72 hours, to encourage the fat cells to deplete and discreet from the body. Going forward it is encouraged for best results to maintain this water intake.
- Bruising and swelling can occur. It is normal and although it causes no physical downtime, it is important to consider if there is an important event coming up, for example a holiday or wedding. It is recommended to allow two weeks prior to any events to allow for if there is any bruising post treatment.
- It is also important to avoid any excess sun exposure, extremes of hot/cold, saunas, swimming or strenuous exercise until the redness and swelling has fully settled.
- If needed antihistamines and cool pack (not ice pack) can be used to reduce swelling post treatment. Arnica cream or gel can also be applied post treatment for any bruising to encourage healing, or tablet form is also available and can be used for 7-14 days post treatment.
Is there anything to consider prior to treatment?
- Take arnica tablets for 7-14 days prior to treatment. The 30c potency are best.
- Avoid blood thinners (eg. Ibuprofen, naproxen, aspirin, alcohol, and caffeine). 7 days prior to treatment Blood thinners increase the risk and size of any bruising.
